Mono Ethylene Glycol is most commonly used for formulation of antifreeze compounds and manufacturing of polyester fibers. It has chemical formula C2H6O2 with molecular weight of 62.07 g/mol and density of 1.1132 g/cm3. This compound appears as colorless liquid with odorless nature and miscibility in water. It shows solubility in most organic solvents and has melting & boiling points of -12.9 & 197.3 degrees Celsius respectively. Mono Ethylene Glycol is most widely used convective heat transfer agent in automobiles & liquid cooled computer systems. It has ability to transport heat via geothermal heat pumps in geothermal heating or cooling systems.
