Product Description
Methyl Salicylate is a methyl ester of salicylic acid and has molecular formula C8H8O3 with molar mass of 152.15 g/mol. It possesses rubefacient & analgesic properties and is intended to be used for relieving joint pain. This chemical also possesses antiseptic properties hence is extensively utilized for preparation of mouthwashes. It shows slight solubility in water and is also miscible in various organic solvents. In immunochemistry, Methyl Salicylate is used to remove color from tissue samples so as to assure better microscopic examination. It decomposes at 340 to 350 degrees Celsius and has melting point of about -8.6 degrees Celsius.
