It is also used as antiozonant for tyres and for liquid-liquid extraction due to its low water solubility. This compound has chemical formula C6H12O with molar mass of 100.16 g/mol. It appears as a colorless liquid with pleasant odor and density of 0.802 g/ml. Methyl Isobutyl Ketone serves as developer for PMMA electron beam lithography resist when mixed in water of isopropyl alcohol. In mining industry, it is required for extraction of gold & silver from cyanide solutions.
