Product Description
Caustic Potash is most commonly utilized as precursor to other potassium compounds, for manufacturing of soaps, and as an electrolyte. Also known as potassium hydroxide, it has molecular formula KOH with molar mass of 56.11 g/mol. This compound has high boiling point of 1327 degrees Celsius with melting point of 360 degrees C. With E number E525, it is utilized as stabilizer & pH control agent with thickening property. Caustic Potash can be produced by addition of potassium carbonate to strong calcium hydroxide solution. It shows solubility in alcohol & glycerol with insolubility in ether.
